- Who's the level 1 pig?
The weekend has been a busy one, filled with camp comm meetings, recee of OBS, cell group outing, church, division retreat discussion and gaming haha.I will be off to chalet from tonight till Friday afternoon also. Super busy. I feel exhausted, stressed and overwhelmed by the camp especially. Every morning the first thought which comes to my mind is: CAMP. The role of a camp commandant may seem quite relaxed when observed by the public, however, being a camp commandant means that you have to oversee the entire planning of the camp. No longer do you only focus on one area like a camp comm member, but you focus on all areas and you have to make sure that everything is running according to schedule. You have to take care of the big picture, the camp venue, leaders, requisition... lots of things which didn't come to my mind when I thought of the role of a camp commandant a few months ago. However, this has been a fruitful period where I see how a camp comm works together, to put the small jigsaw pieces together to form a big and beautiful picture. It's almost a miracle how the planning is going. God's favour is certainly upon us. Whenever there seems to be an obstacle, there is always a way over it eventually. I thank God for Alvin and Dougy, who have always been encouraging and a great source of advice, for my fellow camp commandant, Samuel, who is totally the opposite of me, super relaxed and stressed free, which is good for me. I can't thank the camp comm enough too, such an efficient and passionate bunch of people who always has my back. During the prayer for the camp commandants on Friday night, I was so touched by their support that I teared and really, support is that important. Thank you to Salome also, for that sweet postcard, though in the midst of her exams, she took the time to write encouragements to me. Thank you all :) The following pictures are of my camp comm, who make me smile because of their childlikeness! Saturday was cell day! We went to the newly opened Mind Cafe at Safra Tampines and the place was really nice, plus the games are all NEW and there is a 20% discount because it's newly opened. Coolness! We made friends with Clive and another waiter and the other waiter was guessing our ages and he guessed that Darren and I were 16!!! Do we look that young? Haha, and they guessed that Nathanael was 17, older than us! Oh well, we take that as a compliment! Played four hours plus worth of games and Jurassic Jumble is our all time fav! Played the pig game too hee hee. Taught them Citadels and now they are sort of addicted to it, no worries, we can play during chalet! Then headed for dinner with Silly Flower and Nazzy (who was late) for dinner at Crystal Jade. Food was good, though the meats sold out very very very fast! Leon and Nic were eating machines as usual.
