Get up and dance in His love
Monday, September 08, 2008 - Build a bridge
An achievement for me, I drove to Reachlight by myself on Friday and then drove Lynn, Silly Flower, Thiha Pine and Eugene mummy to ECP Lagoon for supper after that. Achievement because I can drive quite a distance without someone to constantly guide me and I aced my parking! Of course, with their help looking out the windows for me. Not easy ok!

Warning: An uber long post of pictures ahead

Spent my off days, Tuesday and Thursday, meeting up with peeps and having fun!
I am now an official hard core gamer! Think I have never gamed so much in one week before!

Gaming Schedule for the past week:

Sunday night (31/8): Bridge with Char, Lynn, Salome, Silly Flower and Jon at Char’s place from 9-12pm.

Monday night (1/9): Bridge with Lynn, Salome and Silly Flower at Lynn’s place from 9-10.30pm.

Monday night/morning (1/9): Sims 2 on my mac at home from 11.30pm-3.30am.

Tuesday afternoon (2/9): Bridge with Gene, Von and Yin in SP from 3-4pm.

Tuesday afternoon/evening (2/9): Under the knife and Cooking game on Gene’s sister’s Nintendo DS. I wanna buy one!!!

Thursday afternoon (4/9): Bridge at Kai Siang’s house with cell members from 4-6pm.

Thursday night (4/9): Bridge, Daidee and Bluff at my place with cell members from 8-10pm, continued from afternoon.

Thursday night/morning (4/9): Citadels with Lionel, Nazreth and Siao siao Gareth from 10pm-1am.

Sunday night (7/9): Bridge with Char, Lynn, Salome, Jon at Char's place from 9.30-10.30pm.

You tell me, is that a lot of gaming or what?

My right arm is super achey now. Please do not come up and whack my arm, I will whack your head. All because of tennis on Thursday. Went over to Tropica where Nat and Kai Siang stays and had a fun time of picking up the balls tennis with my cell members. Some techniques from squash can be used in tennis but you need a WHOLE LOT OF STRENGTH to play tennis. The racket is already so heavy, and I mean after you’ve bee holding it for an hour. Kai Siang lost two balls, I lost one, and Nic and I consecutively hit 3 balls out of the court. Nic and Nat are on the school team though so they played quite well while the rest of us were trying to play. I still cannot understand how they can serve so nicely. And I mean the high serve. With accuracy and power. Bah.

Went up to Kai Siang’s house after that to cool off and play Bridge. Kai Siang’s mum was SUPER nice. She kept stuffing us with food and drinks. All sorts of chips and crackers, two packets of nuggets, lots of hash browns and strawberries. We were practically drowning in food. Taught them Bridge and they caught on quite fast, except for the occasional blurness from Nat and Kai Siang. We spent a bit of time watching Charlie and the Unicorn (a really lame cartoon) and lots of time laughing over it. Put a banana in your ear, put a banana in your ear…. They bought KFC over to my house for dinner and we settled down for another Bridge session.

Two moments of the night which I will remember forever (strictly no offence!):

1) Ended a game of Daidee with Leon winning. So Leon, Nut and I threw our cards onto the table since the game was over. Was resting my head on the table in defeat when I heard someone say ‘Pass’. Looked up and saw Kai Siang with an innocent face and still holding his cards. Burst into uncontrollable laughter.

2) Another game of Daidee where Leon threw a set of 5 consecutive cards down, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. It was Nat’s turn and he only put one card, a 9. Leon told him, ‘Wrong, cannot put.’ Nat took back the card and put…. …. 8. Another uncontrollable laughter moment.

Pro tennis player. Not.

Acting serious

But failing

Beloved cell went off at 10pm and I went up to rest for 5 mins and Lionel, Nazreth and Siao siao Gareth came over. Nazreth announced their arrival with an extraordinary phone call.

“Three little pigs standing outside your door, one of them very hungry, one of them scratching his head, one of them….. three little pigs waiting to come in…. blah blah….”

Welcomed them in and Gareth single-handedly (with a little help from us) wiped out one pate of sushi, one tupperware of pizza, almost a plateful of chicken and lots of soya bean milk. He is really one bottomless pit.

(Digression on Friday 2.47pm)

Interruption by one of my male colleagues.

He just stood in front of my desk and said, “The pig’s coming.”
I asked, “Who’s the pig?”
He replied, “Just see, the pig’s coming, 3…2….1!”
And one of my not very slim female colleague came through the door.
So bad right!!!
Good thing she didn’t hear that.

Anyway, back to what I was saying, as Gareth was eating, we played Citadels and this one was a really close game. Lionel won in the end, while we were trying to stop Nazreth from winning. Really needed strategy man, but it was a good game. So current score, Lionel won one and I won one so far (at the steamboat). Think we’re gonna play again next week, yay!

On Tuesday morning, I woke up at 10.40am when I was supposed to meet Sam and Dougy at 11am. Ack! Took a cab to meet them and met Alvin who joined us also to do some stuffs.

Met Yin, Von and Gene at SP in the afternoon to meet up with some of the teachers and we played Bridge first then went to find the teachers. Rajan hasn’t changed, still as messy as ever and I think he was dying for some good company because he asked us to play pool with him in the staff lounge. Since I knew nuts about pool, I played Gene’s sister’s Nintendo DS and I must say that it’s very interesting! Much better for fun gamers like me who don’t like long and serious games which are mostly played on the psp. Think I’m gonna save up to get meself one! Pink!

After entertaining Rajan, we headed to the DMS to chat with Ms. Kwa and Ms. Nga. Haha, of course they missed us and they are the vainest teachers ever! And I mean vain as in taking photos vain. They were super conscious of how they looked in photos and Ms. Kwa made us take the photo 5 times because she said she looked fat or whatever in the previous 4. At least Ms. Nga only retook once. Haha!!!

Wah, I blog until my scalp pain. Weird.

I wanted to try somewhere new for dinner and expand my horizons so one of them suggested MOF (Ministry of Food) at Suntec, a Japanese restaurant. Ambience was lovely and the food came fast and it was yum yum. Biggest highlight was the dessert because they’re quite famous for that. Would definitely go back there. Meeting up next week, a day before Eugenia goes off to his two year long camp! Hee hee.
