Get up and dance in His love
Friday, July 18, 2008 - Kissable lips
I woke up with the after effects of yesterday's flu and a slight sore throat. I wasn't sick enough to take MC though so I dragged my very sleepy and reluctant self out of bed. My lips are extremely pinkish because that's how my lips will react when I have flu and the upper lip will hurt. They look kissable though. Haha. My supervisor asked me whether I put lipstick today and I just answered stared at him and said no, I wasn't feeling well. Period started today also which is another dampener on my mood. Have decided to abandon plans for dinner and Reachlight tonight because my body needs to rest and I need to prepare for cell on Sunday.

Okkkaayyyy. My Korean colleague just came to my table and said this. Which goes to show how rumours can begin and how miscommunication happens. Let’s call him H.B. Imgaine him speaking English in a heavy Korean accent.

H.B: Why are you quitting?
Me: Huh??? (puzzled look on my face)
H.B: I heard you are quitting or getting fired because you don’t like the people?
Me: No, I’m leaving the company soon because I’m going to start school.
H.B: Ahhhhh! (Big exclaimation and he exclaimed the way Japanese and Koreans do) I see! I thought you don’t like the people here.
Me: Er, no.
H.B: Ahhhhh! (Another big exclaimation) I thought I heard you say it upstairs.

And he turns around and walks back up to his desk, maybe unsatisfied because he thought there were some office politics going on and he wanted to get first-hand information to add some spice to his workday.

And this was what happened before which made Mr. Korea come down and ask me that. I went upstairs to scan some documents and two of my male colleagues were queuing behind me because they also had some print job so they striked up a casual conversation. Let’s call them H and R. They know that I’m leaving because of school. They’re just joking around with me.

R: So you’re leaving us soon?
H: Why Rachel? You don’t like us? Why are you leaving?
Me: Haha, (I don’t literally laugh like that) I have school, it’s starting soon.
H: Why don’t you like us Rachel? Don’t leave us!

And it goes on. So that’s why H.B, who was sitting corner desk, overhearing our conversation, got the wrong idea. Good thing he clarified with me first instead of spreading the wrong stuff to other colleagues.

And yes, this is my baby pink Aldo watch which I finally got (mental note: still have to pay IT) and I like very much because it's just so girly!

Saw Chris off at the airport yesterday, the third friend in a week's span who's going to Aussie to study. She got teary-eyed towards the end and Adeline and I were singing happy songs from our guiding days to prevent us from getting emo. Oh well, all the best to Nat, Suffy and Chris!

Met up with Zhimin and Kim yesterday for dinner at Pasta Cafe! The pasta there is quite good, and they have the inky black squid spaghatti like Waraku too. We were feeling full after dinner so we walked around and we came to The Scene at Wisma where they do manicures but by the time Kim and I decided to do a manicure, the lady said that there wasn’t enough time for the nails to dry. We headed to Starbucks where both of them ate again and where we kept asking Zhimin about health problems because she works in SGH. It got to a point where we started asking each other questions like, “Will you rather have heart problems or kidney failure?” Zhimin chose the former. So… yeah. Love you girls! I will plan another MI meeting next week! This time the boys are coming!
