- I am mysterious
As every 20th of the month is the day which I change my monthly contacts, I threw away my brown ones and tried on grey! I got a bit of a shock when I first wore it because it looked a bit unnatural but actually it looks okay and I’m starting to like it. It’s a different feel from brown, haha, maybe I have split personalities so I behave differently when I wear different colours. So maybe brown is a warm personality and grey is hmmm… mysterious? Ok, I am acting mysterious now. I shall not tell you who I am. You think I am Rachel but I am not. I am a mystery. Muahahahaha! My weekend passed so quickly as usual. On Friday, though I said I had abandoned my dinner and Reachlight plans, I went for dinner with Silly Flower and for Reachlight in the end. Felt very bad ps-ing Silly Flower because he had no one to eat dinner with :( Awww. Learnt in Reachlight that God is greater than our heart. That verse can be found in 1 John chapter 3. God knows everything which is good because we can rest assured that he will take care of everything but sometimes we may not like it because He also knows our deepest darkest secrets. IF, IF, IF, I was able to choose whether I wanted God to know my everything or only things that I tell Him, I would still choose to let Him know EVERYTHING because then, He is truly God, the only one who can help me in ANY circumstance. I’m glad that God is greater than my heart. Li Jia has given me a silly nickname ‘hot pink’ because I mentioned on my blog that I wanted to buy a hot pink bikini. Hmmm, I shall try to think of a nickname for her too. Can’t believe Linda, Li Jia and I had a short conversation about something only applicable to girls because it led on from bikinis. Eeeeeeee!!! Daddy and Mummy fetched me home and I was watching The Office (Sorry darling!) and ANTM Cycle 10 Ep 9 on my mac and Mummy suddenly asked if I had time for her. I stopped watching and she just poured out her traumatic childhood and her problems to me. I didn’t know what to say so I interjected with questions relating to what she was saying and just heard her out for around an hour plus. I think she was glad that there was someone there just to listen and not judge and I’m glad that I was there for her. I went to bed after that, exhausted by the long day. I slept my fill and woke up at 11am on Saturday! The only day which I have to wake up late! I dare any of you to ruin my Saturday morning sleep. I will CHOP you if you do ah! I watched another episode of The Office (Sorry again darling!) and mopped around the house. Before I knew it, it was already 1pm and there was leader’s training at 2pm and I haven’t bathed, haven’t eaten my lunch and I was rushing like a mad woman and thank God my daddy called at 1.50pm and asked me if I wanted a lift to church. YES OF COURSE!!! John was in charge of leaders training and the topic was on Youth Culture and we had to come up with a pie chart with segments of youth. My group, the only group with only girls, which consisted of Sister Julia, Char, Mel, Lynn, Isabella and me, came up with 13 segments. The only ones I can remember are 1) Ah Bengs 2) Ah Lians 3) Nerds 4) Jammers 5) Punks 6) Popular 7) Emo (all the groups had this!) 8) Void deck groups… and I can’t remember the rest. We also discussed about identity, environment and peers vs family. It was a very hands on session and I rated it 9/10 because I learn more through participation. Good job good job!!! After leaders training, the Bridge jie meis gathered and started playing that card game! Haha, we played from church to Mac’s opposite church till 6.30pm. I think we are getting addicted oh no! We also taught Alvin how to play and though it was quite confusing to him at first, he managed to understand and play a bit. LQ came over to meet me (so nice of him to travel all the way down since he only booked out in the afternoon) and the poor boy wasn’t feeling well because of an ulcer in his throat. He couldn’t talk much and he said his 3 attempts to yawn failed because of the pain which made him unable to open his mouth wide. Be thankful for ulcer-less throats people! Sidenote: Oooh, it’s 4.30pm already! Half an hour more to end to work! Time passes so fast when I’m blogging! Today was a busy day at work because of the British Open over the weekend, lots of coverage, so I was busy busy busy today! Anyway, Padraig Harrington won this $8.4 million event, for those who care about golf. We had a double date with Ber and Benji and Ber came to jie Mr. Goh and I in her dad’s 7-seater family car. Shiok! We headed straight to E Hub at Downtown East with no accidents (thank God) and had a few laughs along the way at the bimbo-ness of Ber, that’s why Benji is good for her! Haha! E Hub is not a good place for sick people to eat because there was only fast food and we had to settle for Superdog and poor LQ didn’t eat. He went to buy some starfruit juice and I felt so bad for him. But he got to watch his long-awaited movie, Batman, the dark night knight! Good thing LQ was there, I kept asking him questions throughout the show because I didn’t understand certain parts and LQ is a comic fanatic so he knows like EVERTHING. No spoilers here so don’t worry. But Heath Ledger’s acting is a tad chilling. It was a 2 hr 20 mins show and as LQ predicted, I went to the toilet halfway at the part where …… (Ok la, no spoilers!) After the show it was already 10 plus and LQ was feeling really horrible so he cabbed back and dropped me off on the way. I slept at 2am. Sunday dawned and these happened: 1) Great job Serena bridge jie mei on your first worship leading! 2) I knelt down before God and the tears just flowed. How I missed His touch. 3) Encouragement notes during choir was fun! 4) Linda purposely zao sia while singing along to ‘When you believe’ by two powerhouses, Whitney Housten and Mariah Carey. All of us had a good laugh! 5) 3/4 of the Bridge jie meis gathered to play at Char’s house. Parrot mouth had exams the next day. We missed her! Jonathan was her replacement and he learned very fast. Charity was very blur as usual, earning many smacks on her thighs from me. Serena was stoning because she didn’t play very well and she looked like she just came out from a 3-day no sleep bridge marathon. I was singing these songs over and over again: Promises (stuck in my head) and One Love. Jonathan kept getting influenced and sang with me. Parrot disease was everywhere. Went back at 12am to sleep. And here I am, on a Monday afternoon, recounting my detailed weekend to you. This post took an hour to type. WORK IS OVER!!! |
