I’ve been having this humongous mother of ulcers at the left bottom of my mouth. It formed a week a go after I bit myself 3 times and they merged into one gigantic ulcer. It’s half the size of a ten cent coin, imagine how painful that is. I can’t close my mouth properly and my left cheek is slightly swollen. Brushing teeth is an absolute torture. I have to say that ulcers are comparable with the time of the month. It makes you grumpy and irritable. Bah.

Leaders Retreat 2008. The most relaxing leaders retreat I have been to. Programme throughout: Free time, eat, games, free time, free time, nap, dinner, free time and more free time. It was a good break from the routine of work, to have time to rest and have fun with my brothers and sisters in Christ. John conducted a leaders workshop on the first night which I missed three quarters of where he talked about different personalities of a person and surprisingly I am a ‘Let’s go’ person. I haven’t thought of myself in that way before but I realise that if I’m a ‘Let’s go’ person in some kind of situations. I like to move on and complete tasks only if I have the motivation. Quite bad in a way though.

Second night was worship and a bit of sharing from Pastor Pacer. In worship, we sang the song ‘I Surrender’ and again, I surrendered that particular area of my life to God. In these past few months, because of that issue, I realize that I can surrender to God that area of my life as many times as I want to, it doesn’t stop at one.

What did I do during free time which was two thirds of the retreat? BRIDGE! Crazy over that game! On the first night, I played with my bridge jie-meis (Char, Serena, Linda) from 11pm to 4am. It was the same case on the second night. Throughout the second day, we were also playing bridge too. We also played with Pastor Pacer, Emerald, Salome, Ren qi and Emerald who I find is a very unique girl. Actually in Bridge, since it is a partners game, you get to see how people react when they play because they know or don’t know who their partners are. I’m one of those who will keep making eye contact with my partner so in future games, I must force myself to stop looking around. I really enjoyed the bbq, especially the sotong ceremony. When Wei Xiong is near, he’s bound to come up with some crazy idea.

Last but not least, the place was huge! It’s a chalet tucked inside Changi at Andover Road. Fairy Point Chalet 6. It could easily accommodate 100 people and 1 room was equivalent to my living room. We had our own driveway and like 10 parking lots, how cool is that! But I wouldn’t want to stay there on my own, would be a bit eerie at night in such a big place.
