Get up and dance in His love
Monday, May 19, 2008 - Birthday celebrations with friends and family
This is an extremely late post but better late than never! Thanks to all those who wished me happy birthday, tons of my friends and loved ones who remembered my special day! Thanks to my family, Salome (first to wish me), Chris, Nut, Zhi Wei da ge, Jo, Nix, Genia, Silly flower, Jia, Grace, Nisa, Wilbur, Char, Ber, Natasha, Vin vin, my colleagues, Suffy, IT, Valenie, Linda, Nic, Serena, Lynn, Adeline, Dione, Yin, Bea, Leon, Alvin Chia, Meiling, my aunt, Yanda who wished me on my birthday! Especially to Darren who called from Taiwan and My baby boy who called from camp! Smiles!

Celebrated with the girls on Tuesday and as per our tradition, we went to MIND Cafe at Purvis Street which is the same street as Ms. Clarity, in Bugis area, I think it’s a new outlet. We were as crazy as last year, if not more, especially with the rabbit game (remember the triangle)! My favourite game is still the Jurassic Park game, it’s ultimate fun and you can really see who has slow reflexes. Thanks to Lynn and Agnes for the Anna Sui blusher, can’t bear to use it because of the pretty rose imprint, but I promise I will use it soon! Thanks so much for the enjoyable time girls!

Met up with Chris, Jo and Nix on Wednesday night and headed to T3 Swensen’s for dinner. As it was my first time in T3, I was just oohing and aahing at the décor like a tourist and snapping away with my camera. At that moment, I suddenly felt very proud of Singapore for such an achievement and when I told Chris and Jo, they just looked at me funnily. Anyway, thanks to Chris and Jo for the fab dinner treat at Earles Swensen’s where Mix and I were quite impressed with the salad bar. Thanks also to Nix for buying me a book I already read (For one more day by Mitch Albom), hahs, and the preety red daisy, I love red and I love the hand crayoned borders paper bag, it’s super cool and cute though kind of ironic as it was in celebration of Green Day but the paper bag was so big.

On day of my birthday, Thursday itself, housekeeping aunty bought me carrot cake for my birthday, thank you aunty! My company treated me to lunch at Shin Kushiya, a Jap restaurant at Vivo. None of us had tried it before but I was in the mood for Jap so we went there. The food was good and the sashimi too, though I didn’t know what I was eating at all and neither of my colleagues too. We didn’t know which was tuna, scallop, etc, and just ate any-o-how. After lunch I went to choose my own cake with Calvin at BakerzIn and chose a mango cake. Originally when my boss asked which flavour I wanted, I told him durian and some shook their head violently because they’re ang mohs and they totally hated the smell of durian. It was quite funny when we threatened to eat durian in their room. They were super turned off by durian so we settled for mango heehee. Thanks to Asian Tour for the lovely lunch and cake, and also for the durian puffs!

Dinner was spent with my family and we went to Roxy Mercury Hotel at Marin Parade for a buffet dinner. The ambience was very cosy and the waiters, which we could tell were non-Singaporean, were very attentive and efficient in filling our glasses and clearing our plates. The food was good too, variety was satisfactory though not as much as Sakura, but the quality of the food is better. Four of us were full to bursting after 2 hours of eating, thanks for the lovely dinner mum and dad!
