Get up and dance in His love
Monday, March 05, 2007 - Free equals quality?
Bleah. I'm down with throat infection since Monday which means cough cough cough, green yucky mucus and a horrible raspy voice. The worst was on Thursday when I woke up to find that I had totally lost my beautiful voice and screamed a silent "OH MY GOSH!". Lynn can vouch for that, she was the first to 'hear' me. Thank God, my voice is much better now, though it still sounds a bit manly. Haha.

Had my first driving lesson on Friday with my instructor Mr Ng (thanks Cindy) and it was quite fun overall. Manual is much more fun than auto cos it's more complicated thanks to the clutch pedal and that makes it more challenging unlike auto. Mr Ng was like a bullet train and he ran through the basic stuff really quickly like how to change gear, change lanes, brake, etc and half of it was spoken in chinese so poor me had to pay extremely close attention to catch and decipher what he was saying. I'm pleased to say that I didn't knock down anyone or dent the car and the drive was smooth (of course). Tmr will be my next lesson, uber fast, and he's gonna teach me till gear 4. Hope I still remember what I learnt yesterday. Haha, but it's really quite easy to control the car actually, couldn't believe that I was really driving on the road. Hee hee.

After work last Thursday (another day at boring old fort), Yin and I decided to catch the 'free' musical fountain show at 7.40pm because it is going to close down soon in the next month or so. Since both our shifts ended at 6pm, we wanted to watch 4D Magix and enter using our T pass but no such luck, we had to wear our uniforms in order to get in but we had already changed out. So, we decided to go for the sky tower to kill time. Of course, we got in for free :) Seriously, it's a waste of $12 for only a pathetic 7 minutes. I feel like I'm cheating people everytime I work at sky.
Eek! The papaya is eating me!

I'll eat the banana!

Yin likes papaya!

But turns up her nose at the banana

The Imbiah station for Sentosa Express

Finally we reached our destination, the magnificant musical fountain show which is free and super crowded because everyone (including foreigners) are kiasu and come in at 5 plus for a 15 min show. Er, let's say that we had high hopes for the show in the beginning and they were dashed because it wasn't really that great and it was kinda lame. At least our curiousity was satisfied. I think the only impressive stint was the fire thingy. It was hot, literally.

Some entertainment before the show starts

It was drizzling and we found that tourists used Sentosa's brochures for sitting, they took like 4 each!

And some, like us, sat on plastic bags.
