- Blades from a knife shop
On labour day, May 1st, Daddy bought me rollerblades for my birthday present!!! I have waited for 2 years for rollerblades and finally I have them, woohoo! Thank you daddy! We went to Skateline at 296 upper paya lebar road and some of the blades there were on 50% discount, and they were K2 brand! Daddy and Linda couldn't resist also, so they bought themselves each a pair. Haha, the blades in the shop are really tempting, like calling out to us to buy them. Got it quite a good price, $260 after discount, and it's K2, ball bearings are better than abec so I'm satisfied, no cognitive disonance. Linda and I calculated that we had to use our blades for 70 hours before it is worth our money cos the rental rate outside is $8 for 2 hours. So far 4 hours down, 66 for to go! Went blading on Saturday with Linda and we managed to break 5 records while blading. Record no.1: We bladed from mac to NSRCC and back, super tiring. Record no.2: We managed to blade in the Lagoon hawker centre for dinner without falling down. Record no.3: It was 7 plus on a sat night and that place was super crowded and there were many people waiting for tables but we managed to find a table which was actually already reserved by a japanese lady and her two daughters. But as she was queuing for food at the stall beside the table and as her small daughters were walking around, the table was empty and we just sat down. The lady saw that we sat down and when we realised the table was hers, we got up but she motioned us to sit there. You know, the way Jap women speak right, they're very polite and smile very nicely to you. We thought she will come back to take the table after buying her food but apparantly she gave up the table for us cos she disappeared when we went to look for her. So nice! Record no.4: Because Linda and I were wearing blades, it was very difficult for us to move around carrying food and drinks. So using my whiny voice and ke lian face, sugarcane lady brought our drinks over for us. But meepok aunty wasn't that nice. So I had no choice but to approach a group of china teenagers at a table to help us carry our food from the stall to our table. I was quite embarrassed but it had to be done and the guy who helped us was very nice and quite good-looking too. Haha, Linda blushing! Record no.5: We talked to strangers while having our dinner. Our table was a 4 seater so a couple approached us and we let them have the seat. They're nice people and we started talking to them about the snails which the guy ordered and how it tasted like, etc. All in all, I realise tht people are actually quite nice if we make an effort to talk to them and catch them in the right mood. If we had asked Singaporeans to help us, maybe they would wave us off, but china people actually helped us. So we can't judge people generally, because everyone is different.. I strive to be a nicer and more amiable person!!! Yeah!
Success! P.S. Linda, 64 more hours! |
